A contingent of dedicated volunteers went to Desert National Wildlife Refuge on October 13, 2007 to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week. The event was sponsored by the Take Pride in America in Southern Nevada Program. More than ten volunteers participated in a clean-up project removing litter along a one-mile section of a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service road. The volunteers contributed more than 40 hours to remove 15 cubic yards of litter.
