The Honorable U.S. Senator John Ensign spoke at the event. The Senator spoke about our precious natural resources and reminded everyone that the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act is helping to protect our environment by keeping land sale money in Nevada.
Other speakers at the event were Amy Lueders, Nevada Associate State Director of the Bureau of Land Management (at podium); Stephanie Phillips, SNAP Board Chair and Deputy Forest Supervisor with the U.S. Forest Service; Dr. Peg Rees, UNLV Associate Vice President for Research and Community Outreach and Executive Director of the Public Lands Institute; and Angie Lara, Associate Field Manager of the Las Vegas Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (seated left to right).

After the messaging campaign announcement Don’t Trash Nevada hosted a barbeque (courtesy of Republic Services of Southern Nevada) and clean-up. Over 25 cubic yards of trash and debris were removed during the event. |

The interagency anti-litter and dumping team created the Don’t Trash Nevada campaign with the help of many people along the way, including Aztec Communication, a Las Vegas-based public relations firm.
