On June 20, 2009, eleven volunteers, a group of professional surveyors, and the SNAP Anti-litter Desert Dumping team (Don't Trash Nevada) cleaned an area of North Red Rock Canyon, just off of Lucky Strike Canyon Road. The volunteers spent three hours removing 28 cubic yards of waste left behind from illegal shooting. Although this area has been closed to shooting it has been littered with illegally dumped materials used for target shooting, including thousands of shotgun shells.
