The Desert Bighorn Sheep is
Nevada's state animal.
Limited to mountainous
habitats, bighorn sheep can
live up to 14 years. They
eat grasses and shrubs, and
weigh from 100 to 250
pounds. The Indigo bush
grows on rocky slopes and
has flowers that range from
dark blue to purple. Above
is the proud Prairie Falcon
hunting for birds and small
mammals, such as the
Antelope Ground Squirrel,
which is out in the open
during the day, looking for
seeds and fruit.
