The Coyote lives throughout the southwest deserts, including all of southern Nevada. A pack animal, Coyotes hunt and eat almost anything, including reptiles, mammals, insects, frogs, and dead animals. The cute little Desert kangaroo Rat is only five inches long, not including its tail, and can leap 10 feet! The Zebra-tailed Lizard runs fast, up to 18 miles per hours, and likes to eat insects and spiders. The Turkey Vulture helps clean up the desert and roadways by eating dead animals.
